Sundy Village, Delray Beach's eagerly anticipated mixed-use development, is making significant strides towards its completion by the end of 2024. As construction progresses, the project has proudly announced its first round of tenants, signaling a promising start for this historic-focused venture.
The development aims to offer a diverse mix of retail, office space, and dining experiences. Among the first to join Sundy Village are:
- Vertical Bridge, the U.S.'s largest private owner and operator of communications infrastructure, boasting over 500,000 sites nationwide.
- Barcelona Wine Bar, a renowned establishment with a presence in 11 states, offering an extensive selection of nearly 400 wines and a menu inspired by Mediterranean, Spanish, and South American cuisines.
- Schulson Collective, led by chef Michael Schulson, known for his high-end restaurants in Philadelphia and Miami.
- Pebb Capital, the developer behind Sundy Village, is set to relocate its headquarters from Boca Raton to one of the project's standalone office buildings.
Todd Benson, Pebb Capital's principal for development, expressed his enthusiasm for the project's unique historical aspect. "In a region filled with new, shiny constructions, Sundy Village stands out with its historical significance, offering something truly exceptional and memorable in South Florida," he said.
The groundbreaking for the 7-acre site took place in February, and Benson confirmed that the project is on schedule to complete the base building by this summer. This phase will pave the way for tenants to commence their individual buildouts. With about 70% of the space already leased, more tenant announcements are expected in the coming months.
Benson highlighted the project's appeal, noting the unique work experience it offers, along with the ability to entertain clients amidst the amenities of Atlantic Avenue. "It's a rare and attractive proposition in South Florida, appealing to a diverse range of tenants," he added.
Laura Simon, the executive director of the Delray Beach Downtown Development Authority, shared her excitement about the project's progress. "Seeing the caliber of tenants attracted to our community and their investment in Sundy Village is incredibly rewarding. It's a testament to our collaborative efforts to bring this vision to life," she remarked.
Sundy Village is not just a development project; it's a fusion of Delray Beach's rich history with modern amenities, creating a unique destination that promises to enhance the community's vibrancy and appeal.
