Ocean Ridge is a small town situated along the Florida State Road A1A as a part of the Miami metropolitan area. As a town spanning only 1.75 sq. miles, it’s home to a small community of around 1800 residents. The town was incorporated in 1931 as the Town of Boynton Beach, but the Town Commission decided to change the name. 

The reason for the name change is due to similarities with Daytona Beach and mail used to be missent out of confusion. The daughter of Mayor Michael White suggested “Ocean Ridge” as the new name and got the approval. The Town Commission officially changed the name to “Ocean Ridge” in 1939.
