What to know about Boynton Beach, Florida

About Boynton Beach

This city is famous for its beautiful beaches, artistic surroundings, and the closeness of the community demonstrated by a population of over 81,000. The town borders other famous South Florida cities such as Boca Raton to the south, Delray Beach to the north, and West Palm Beach to the north. With other major cities nearby, Boynton Beach in comparison has many qualities of a small-town atmosphere. Equally however, there are a number of marinas, parks, and the Atlantic Ocean-people just love it. Being a city that has an incredible history combined with new developments, Boynton Beach is your best bet.

This great town got its name from Major Nathan Smith Boynton who happened to be a major in the Civil War and a politician. Since he was a hotel owner, too, he started constructing the Boynton Hotel in 1899 and soon it turned out as one of the resorts for the tourists who love to spend their winter holidays in Florida. The hotel gained not only this popularity, it had a farming community and other sources which brought in income from people around. Consequently in 1920 it had been named the Town of Boynton and eventually took a proper legal formation as the City of Boynton Beach in 1941.
