This weekend, South Florida is set to host the internationally celebrated outdoor dining spectacle, Outstanding in the Field, known for transforming picturesque farm landscapes into epicurean banquet halls under the sky. Scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 27, at Holman’s Harvest in West Palm Beach, and Sunday, Jan. 28, at Paradise Farms in Homestead, this event promises an unforgettable culinary adventure.
Outstanding in the Field sets itself apart by organizing lavish dinners at communal tables sprawled across the most idyllic settings. This time around, the event boasts an impressive lineup of culinary talent. On Saturday, diners will be treated to the culinary creations of Chef Jason Weiner of Almond. The following day, Sunday, promises an equally exquisite experience with dishes prepared by Chef Andrew Ayala, known for his work at the Michelin-starred establishments Le Jardinier and L’Atelier.
Since its inception by artist Jim Denevan in 1999, Outstanding in the Field aims to reconnect diners with nature through an immersive dining experience. The event not only highlights the bond between local farming and gourmet cuisine but also showcases the artistry of renowned chefs from around the globe.
Tickets are priced at $375 per person, which includes a multi-course dinner complemented by a selection of wines, offering diners a chance to indulge in a gastronomic surprise, as menus are kept under wraps until the event. While the experience is designed to cater to a variety of palates, the event organizers accommodate some dietary restrictions, ensuring a welcoming experience for all.
After its stint in South Florida, the tour will continue to enchant diners in locations such as Hawaii, Mexico, Alabama, and California throughout the year, marking its ongoing commitment to celebrate the earth's bounty in the company of fellow food enthusiasts.
