Big things are happening at CityPlace in downtown West Palm Beach. Stephen Ross, chairman of Related Ross, is focused on transforming the city into a leading destination, with CityPlace playing a major role in that vision. The massive mixed-use development, which first opened in October 1999, is set for a major overhaul. After breaking ground on March 12 for two new office towers—10 and 15 CityPlace—officials shared new details about what’s next for the area.

What’s in Store for CityPlace?

Ross, who also owns the Miami Dolphins, says he wants to bring in everything needed to support the city's rapid growth. Here’s what’s in the works:

New Office Towers: 10 and 15 CityPlace

The new high-rises will bring 1 million square feet of office space to downtown by 2027. Once complete, these buildings could house 4,700 employees. Ken Himmel, president of Related Ross, shared that the 25-story 15 CityPlace tower is already 60% pre-leased.

One of the standout features? A 6,000-square-foot rooftop amenity deck, designed by renowned architect Bernardo Fort Brescia of Arquitectonica.

Confirmed tenants include:

Will a Bigger Publix Be Built at CityPlace?

There’s been talk of a larger Publix store for years, but negotiations are still ongoing. The plan is to build it at Banyan Boulevard and Rosemary Avenue, a few blocks north of the current location. Publix had previously backed away from the idea, but with West Palm Beach’s growing population and CityPlace’s upgrades, the deal is back on the table.

Eataly: A Game-Changer for Downtown

The highly anticipated Eataly Italian Market is expected to draw more than 1 million visitors a year. The $45 million project will feature 30,000 square feet of indoor space, plus outdoor seating. Mayor Keith James highlighted Eataly’s potential impact, stating that it could become a major draw for visitors from across the county and beyond. Himmel added that the market will likely boost business for nearby restaurants due to the increased foot traffic.
